Packet Analyzer

In simple terms, packet Analyzer is a computer program that analyzes the packet. It could also be a piece of computer hardware. A packet analyzer could also intercept and log traffic over a digital network. As the data is streamed across the Internet, the packet analyzer decodes the packet’s raw data and analyses the content of the packet according to the specifications that are given.

Packet analyzers have numerous uses. Packet analyzers can be used to analyze problems in the network, detect any misuse by the internal and external users, gain information for effecting a network intrusion, monitor data-in-motion and network usage, spy on other network users, filter suspect content from network traffic and debug network protocol implementations and client/server communications.
